Cruises R Fun! - Reviews of Cruise Lines, Cruise Ships, Destinations, Ports And More!
If you weren't on the Sapphire or Diamond.. you might not notice how crowded it was but we certainly did. Where the Sapphire had a lovely covered pool .. the Caribbean has MUTS ( Moves Under the Stars). The screen was really good resolution and the sound was certainly LOUD so if your idea of vacation is to watch a movie by the pool with unsalted popcorn .. you will love that feature. We never went.
Smoking is allowed in your stateroom and on your balcony and a few other places on the ship, I am sure you have all heard of the chair hogs that reserve Loungers by the pool with a towel early in the morning .. it was almost that for the few tables along the Port side of the Lido deck by the pool or the 6 bar stools on the rail at the terrace pool. You have two choices if you wish to smoke on deck . stand or ask someone if you may join them .. I recommend the later .. you might meet someone new. Smoking is also allowed in one part of the Wheelhouse and in a small area at Club Fusion and in the casino most nights.
This was the first cruise for the new Princess menu's on this ship. The initial reaction was eeeewww, but I really think the kitchen and the staff need some time to adjust and then all will be good. It appears to me that vegetarians and fish lovers will love these menu's but unless they improve the beef .. order the lamb or pork or try a veggie dish or the ever popular Fettuccini Alfredo.. the beef had no flavor our should have been labeled sole of New York .. in the Dining room that is .. at Sterling it was fantastic.
On this cruise we had a mini-suite. The extra room was great. Instead of a tiny cramped little shower as we have become accustomed to, we had a bathtub/shower that was quite roomy. In addition, there was a sitting room that was plenty big for the two of us, and the usual cramped balcony. We had more than enough storage space, with room left over in the closet, and several empty drawers.
There were two TV sets, so you could watch one from bed, and one from the sitting room, however we did not turn either set on for this trip.
The little mini fridge had a fresh tub of ice every day without us asking.
Owners Suite...
One of our 72 best friends had the Owners Suite on the Aloha deck, so we
visited and took some
took some photographs. It was obviously quite nice.
